She outed a trans boy in the middle of court.
She outed a trans boy in the middle of court.
I got that idea from a tweet I found on twitter. I have no idea how I found that tweet.
To be honest, Robin seemed more like a trans girl to me. She expressed clear discomfort with being referred to as a boy and let her true colors show when she was outed, and even though it's really weird with how ok she was (imo at least) after being discovered, at least she appeared to be more relaxed when people saw her as a girl rather than a boy, so her being a trans boy wouldn't make too much sense in my view. And yes, the whole situation with Robin made me... pretty uncomfortable. The case could've have progressed perfectly without Robin being outed at all, but honestly Turnabout Academy had a lot of weird stuff that needn't have been included (like Hugh and Robin's "secrets" could've been other stuff! It shouldn't have been transphobic and implied borderline p*dophillia, even if at last Hugh didn't really have romantic feelings for Junie)
I already said it was a tweet I once found on twitter. the tweet no longer exists, though.
I see jkdhjh thanks for your response tho!
Is this seriously something that people still think? Wasn't this "theory"; as well as the idea that Robin is any kind of transperson, laughed away as ludicrous basically as soon as it first appeared when the game first came out in 2013? I mean no offense, but this "theory" did and still does shows a complete disregard and lack of knowledge over actual transgender issues. Just a word of advise: don't get offended or uncomfortable on behalf of minority groups when it's something you don't actually understand. All you're gonna end up doing is offending them yourself when you completely misrepresent who/what they are, what their identity as a transgender person actually means, what is offensive to them, as well as what being "ousts as a transperson" actually constitutes. Also I'm a bit confused on where there's apparently pedophilia in Turnabout Academy? The only thing I can think of that you could be referring to is the fact that Hugh allegedly fancies Juniper, even though he's 25 and she's a high school student? Firstly, even if Juniper happened to be underage that isn't really pedophilia (or at least it's massively stretching the definition). But moreover, Juniper is 18 anyway. Even by American law she isn't underage, and that goes doubly so by Japanese law.
The thing about Juniper and Hugh is that, even with Junie being a legal adult, she and Hugh have a considerable age gap and it makes me uncomfortable due to yes, Junie is an adult but she's just become one. She's still pretty young in comparison to 25 year old Hugh.
Also uh, I was just stating my view on the topic with Robin, and she did seem trans to me, I don't think I did something wrong? I just explained how I viewed Robin as a trans woman from my perspective. If any transfem people care to tell me if I did something wrong, then please do and I apologize in advance.
It's fair enough if this is your opinion and I don't mean to come across as harsh or anything. I apologise if I did. It making you uncomfortable is fair enough, I can understand why it might, but it isn't pedophilia by definition is the point I'm making so calling it that doesn't really make sense. Not being a member of the trangender community, I don't want to comment with absolute certainty on transgender issues, so I'll hold my tongue on saying anything on more on that matter. I just, personally, think that it's silly to consider Turnabout Academy transphobic. I respect your opinion/perspective on Robin's character though. Again, I'm sorry if I seemed harsh or mean, that wasn't my intention.
It's ok! Thank you for apologizing, I too was a bit rude I think.
According to the wiki, Hugh O'Conner was rumored (Keyword is rumored) to be a love triangle regarding Juniper with Robin prior to Robin being revealed to being a girl and other revelations from that case
Apparently the rumors originated from Myriam Scuttlebutt for that matter since it has been mentioned that Scuttlebutt has a disliking to Juniper Woods or something although this is later been proven a bit false.
Athena works out during the case that Myriam made up the love triangle because she secretly wanted to be Juniper's friend. Bullying Juniper was basically her really misguided way of expressing this. No one actually fancied Juniper, as is eventually revealed. In fact the episode ends with everyone just being friends (including Myriam. Athena made her sort out her issues and she became friends with Juniper, Hugh, and Robin). The only person who fancies someone is Juniper, who by the end of the case has ended up developing feelings for Apollo Justice.
