When I first heard Fragrance of Dark Coffee, I thought it was a nice, chill jazz song, but by the end of Bridge to the Turnabout, I could sense the sadness in the song. I don't think that the case added that sadness though, it's always been there, but I just never realized. The Turnabout Sisters ballad also makes me sad, but that's more of a happy tears song. Fragrance of Dark Coffee, however, makes me feel sad, because Godot really was pathetic. I didn't exactly feel bad for him, but it's just sad how little came out of his efforts. He went into a coma for 5 years, He lost his girlfriend to a murderer. He lost every single one of his trials with Phoenix Wright, the man he blamed for Mia's murder. (Also pathetic, blaming Phoenix.) Godot is always just getting kicked in the ass, and the ways he tries to solve his problems would never work.
