"A Battle Of Wits - Opening Moves" is a music track originating in The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures and used alongside the slower "A Battle of Wits - Breakthrough". Both are used after the second dance of deduction in The Adventure of the Unbreakable Speckled Band, while discussing the corrected conclusion drawn from it. "Opening Moves" is also used during the final cross-examination of Ashley Graydon in The Adventure of the Unspeakable Story.

The track briefly returns in The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve, near the beginning of The Memoirs of the Clouded Kokoro, directly before the flashback to the main section of the case, and in The Resolve of Ryunosuke Naruhodo, when Herlock Sholmes reveals his knowledge of and hypothesis about the Telegram from Japan.
