Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, released in Japan as Gyakuten Saiban 4 (逆転裁判 4literally "Turnabout Trail 4"), is the forth game in the Ace Attorney/Gyakuten Saiban series.
It is the first Gyakuten Saiban game to be specifically built from the ground up for the Nintendo DS as opposed to being ports of Nintendo Gameboy Advanced games like the previous three titles.
New gameplay elements
The bracelet which Apollo wears on his left arm has the ability to "zoom in on witnesses to gather information regarding them". This is called the Minuku System , it's primary function in court is to spot actions made by the witness that show nervousness, such as playing with one's fingers. Doing this even comes with a new phrase, "Soko da!" or "Right there!" in English.

The first name listed is the name confirmed for the European language localizations and the second is the original Japanese name.
Apollo Justice / Housuke Odoroki (王泥喜 法介, Odoroki Hōsuke) He is the new protagonist in the game replacing Phoenix Wright, he is a confident young man and has been described as having "a passionate heart burning red."
Trucy Wright / Minuki Naruhodo (成歩堂 みぬき, Naruhodō Minuki) Apollo's assistant, and Phoenix's adopted daughter.She is a magician who shares the gift that Apollo possesses and acts as Apollo's co-council
Phoenix Wright / Ryuichi Naruhodo (成歩堂 龍一, Naruhodō Ryūichi) He is the former protagonist in the series, he is no longer an attorney but instead plays the piano and poker in a Russian Restaurant called Borhachi and owns a talent agency. He also helps Apollo out.
Kristoph Gavin / Kirihito Garyu (牙琉 霧人, Garyū Kirihito) He is Apollo's mentor and supposedly Ryuichi's good friend, he is described as "always smiling". He is also the older brother of the main prosecutor.
Klavier Gavin / Kyōya Garyu (牙琉 響也, Garyū Kyōya) He is the main prosecutor, and he is also the lead singer for the rock band Gavinners/Garyu Wave, whose members are all involved in law ins some fashion, and his rock star mannerisms even appear in the court room. He became a prosecutor at 17, and unlike he predecessors, he is surprisingly honest and friendly when first introduced.
Ema Skye / Akane Houzuki (宝月 茜, Hōzuki Akane) A detective in Criminal Affairs, Ema is Apollo's main contact in the police department. She knows Phoenix through a court case nine years ago in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney where he cleared her sister Lana of murder. After said case she left to study forensics abroad. She isn't as enthusiastic about her job as Dick Gumshoe was, but gets as excited about "scientific investigations" as she did nine years ago.
Reception After release in Japan, Gyakuten Saiban 4 has been highly praised, with Famitsu giving it a 9/9/9/9 score (36/40), and selling around 250,000 copies during the first retail week, according to Media-Create. Six weeks after its release, Capcom announced that they had shipped 500,000 copies, accounting for twenty-five percent of the series' two million units worldwide.
