Nikolina Pavlova, a teenage ballerina in Novavich Ballet, ran away during a performance in Shanghai, taking with her a tiara worth 20 thousand roubles. She was picked up by the crew of the Burya in the dead of night, having been with them in the past. The following day, she read the newspaper and found an article about her disappearance on the back page. She screamed in shock, attracting the attention of Naruhodo, Susato Mikotoba, and Herlock Sholmes, who were outside in the passageway. Pavlova quickly put on a disguise as "Grimesby Roylott" and took a pair of scissors to cut her hair, only for those outside to enter her cabin before she could do so. Her true identity was quickly discovered, with her hair and the tiara on her desk being two key clues toward her being exposed. However, Pavlova would claim that the tiara rightfully belonged to her, as it had been gifted to her by a Prussian earl.
