An autopsy report was evidence in the trial of Magnus McGilded for the murder of Mason Milverton. The report stated that Milverton had died via a stab wound from McGilded's knife.
The autopsy report was one of several pieces of evidence presented by Barok van Zieks during his opening statement, before the witnesses were summoned to the stand. A peculiarity became apparent between the accounts of the witnesses, however. Bruce Fairplay and Lay D. Furst had seen the victim with the murder weapon already plunged into his abdomen, while Beppo, who had been alerted afterward, claimed to have seen Milverton lying on the floor as McGilded stabbed him. McGilded's lawyer, Ryunosuke Naruhodo, pointed out that this was impossible as Milverton had been stabbed only once, leading Beppo to admit that he had not actually seen any stabbing.
