Barclay Prison is a detainment facility in London. It is next to Lowgate Cemetery, where executed criminals are buried, and St. Synner's Hospital. The governor's office holds 50 years of prisoners' records.
The Professor[]
After being convicted of being the mass murderer known as "the Professor", Genshin Asogi was incarcerated at Barclay Prison while awaiting his execution for his supposed crimes. However, he was secretly given a deal by the authorities: if he falsely confessed to be the Professor, then his execution would be staged and he would be sent home to Japan.
Unfortunately for Asogi, the plan went wrong and he was shot and killed while emerging from his grave. In order to cover-up the incident, head warder Daley Vigil was falsely scapegoated and fired for helping Asogi escape. It would not be until 10 years after Asogi's death that defense attorney Ryunosuke Naruhodo exposed the truth of what had happened that night.
