A broken prop sword was a piece of evidence in Miles Edgeworth's investigation into the murder of Colin Devorae.
Lance's kidnapping and Devorae's murder

Edgeworth found this in the kidnappers' hideout. He eventually deduced that it had been used to jam the hideout's door shut. Afterwards, he used it to point out a contradiction in Lance Amano's testimony, as Lance had claimed that the door was locked when it had merely been jammed by the sword.
