For the purposes of this category, an incident is an event or series of events that involves a central mystery of some kind. Multiple related events may be grouped together if they are subject to a single investigation (e.g. a lawyer investigates multiple events that turn out to be connected), or a single trial (i.e. a defendant is charged and placed on trial in relation to multiple events at the same time). Generally, an incident involves a crime or series of crimes that is investigated by authorized investigators and results in documentation such as police files and court record evidence. Some other events, however, can be notable enough to warrant an incident page/article despite not involving officially authorized investigations or trials. The significance of the central mystery is key to the notability of an incident.
