- I would disagree. I think "Orphaned characters" is more consistent with the names of other categories and is more stylistically correct, especially when dealing with older characters such as Lana Skye and Miles Edgeworth... Strabo412 23:56, October 10, 2011 (UTC)
Franziska von Karma[]
I'm not sure if we can catigorize Franziska as an orphaned character. Do we have proof the Manfred died before she turned 18? I ask this because the description of this category said the people in this category said that the characters under it lost thier parents as children.

Edgeworth's orphaned character status[]
It's been pointed out at times that the games have never explicitly stated that Edgeworth is adopted by von Karma, with such statements being removed from the relevant character pages quite a while ago. I'm not sure where this leaves this category, or Edgeworth's place in it. It's weird because it's so heavily implied that Edgeworth must have been adopted into the von Karma estate, especially in the anime, to the point that it seems more believable than even Edgeworth ever having had a mother growing up. - So, it seems like we should at least restate the definition of this category to try to reflect its current use. There are a few different definitions of the term, but groups like UNICEF only require the loss of one parent, and this definition seems to fit our current usage more than the common usage of having lost both/all parents. If nothing else, this entirely sidesteps the issue of whether Edgeworth is adopted by the von Karmas.
