Chocolates were a piece of evidence in Gregory and Miles Edgeworth's respective investigations into the murder of Pierre Hoquet.
Dover's murder

Gregory received some chocolates from Katherine Hall. He later gave them to Jeffrey Master.
Dane Gustavia's poisoning

During the investigation, Hall handed out the chocolates to everyone on a "service cart" that was really a lift trolley with a block of ice and a tablecloth on it. She then brought the trolley and ice to the Summer Palace, where she dumped the sculpture into the stream. However, this left her without a service cart, forcing her to keep the chocolates in her pocket.
Later, Edgeworth received some of the chocolates from Hall. He later showed it to Master as proof of her bond with him.
