A clothes box was a piece of evidence in Miles Edgeworth's investigation into the murder of Rosie Ringer.
Body storage[]

The clothes box was among the numerous items of evidence from past cases stored by Excelsius Winner in the hidden storeroom above the Committee for Prosecutorial Excellence's chamber in Bigg Building for the purpose of selling them in his illegal black market auctions. On Apr. 4, 2019, Winner held one such auction, but had been warned beforehand by an anonymous individual that Ringer was planning to kill him.
In order to prevent Ringer from carrying out her plan, Winner began by blackmailing Florence Niedler into assisting him, using her grandmother's forged autopsy report from a previous case. He then hid Niedler in the clothes box and locked it to prevent any of the auction attendees from accidentally finding her. Journalist Lotta Hart later entered the storeroom to get a scoop of the black market auctions and attempted to hide in the clothes box. However, he was unable to do so, due to the lock, and thus instead hid behind a large statue.
Sometime later, Ringer and Winner entered the room alone together, where Winner took the opportunity to mortally wound her. He then unlocked the box and helped Niedler disguise herself as Ringer, by changing into her clothing. He then hid Ringer in the clothes box and instructed Niedler to win the bid for it. However, as soon as they left the storeroom, Ringer, who was barely hanging on to life, escaped the box and climbed her way to the rooftop, where she briefly encountered Kay Faraday before dying.
After Niedler successfully won the bid for the box, she and Winner were shocked to find that Ringer had escaped. In their search for her body, they found Faraday unconscious and Ringer dead on the viewing platform. They subsequently changed Ringer back into her clothing and placed her back in the clothes box again until the auction was over, whereupon they took her body to the Committee chamber and arranged the crime scene to make Faraday the prime suspect.
Edgeworth later found the clothes box during his investigation into Ringer's death, and was ultimately able to clear Faraday's name and uncover Winner's crimes.
