Cody Hackins's camera was a piece of evidence in Phoenix Wright's investigation into the murder of Jack Hammer.
Hammer's murder[]

Wright added the camera to the court record after Hackins mentioned that he brought it everywhere. He later used it to prove that Hackins had most likely brought the camera with him to Global Studios on the day of the murder, as he always carried it, even inside the courtroom. Afterwards, he used it to show why Hackins had missed the climax of the fight: namely, he was trying to use his camera.
Hackins got to take a photo of the man in the Steel Samurai suit that seemingly did not show much, but after it was presented to the court, Wright noted that the studio in the photo was Studio Two. The situation led Wright to theorize that the man in the suit was not the defendant, Will Powers, but the victim, Jack Hammer. It also negated Dee Vasquez's alibi of being trapped in Studio Two.
