Jill Crane's murder Edit
- Main article: The Forgotten Turnabout
The costume trunk was presumably a piece of evidence in a past case. It was later taken by Blaise Debeste and stored in the 51st floor storeroom.
On April 4, Blaise held an auction. However, someone had told him that Crane was planning to kill him. In order to prevent this from happening, he had Karin Jenson blackmailed with her grandmother's forgery of an autopsy report during the IS-7 Incident. He then hid her in the costume trunk and locked it to prevent any of the other customers finding her. Lotta Hart later entered the storeroom to get a scoop of the black market auctions and attempted to hide in the costume trunk. Due to the lock, however, she was forced to hide behind the Alif Red statue instead.
A few minutes or hours later, Crane and Debeste entered the room, where Debeste mortally wounded Crane. He then unlocked the trunk and helped Jenson disguise herself as Crane. He then hid Crane's body in the costume trunk and instructed Jenson to win the bid for it. However, as soon as they left the storeroom, Crane, who was barely hanging on to life, escaped the trunk and climbed her way to the rooftop, where she encountered Kay Faraday and died.
Meanwhile, Jenson successfully won the bid for the trunk. However, when she and Debeste went up to get it, they found that Crane had escaped. In their search for her body, they found Faraday unconscious and Crane on the viewing platform. They then hid Crane's body in the costume trunk again until the auction was over. Afterwards, they took her body and brought it to the meeting room.
Edgeworth later found the costume trunk.
