One of at least nine courtrooms in the Los Angeles District Court, Courtroom No. 3 has been used to hold the trials for seven known cases, including Phoenix Wright's only known defeat. It was also visited by Miles Edgeworth on September 10, 2012 during his investigation into the murders of Byrne Faraday and Mack Rell.
Murder at the courthouse[]
On September 10, 2012, a man by the name of Mack Rell was put on trial for the murder of Deid Mann. However, during the trial he declared that the prosecutor for the case, Byrne Faraday, was actually the infamous thief Yatagarasu and had ordered him to kill Mann. During the subsequent recess, both Rell and Faraday were found dead in Defendant Lobby No. 2. Miles Edgeworth, who was due to take over the role of prosecutor for the trial from Faraday, investigated the case and eventually discovered that the culprit for the double murder was actually Rell's defense attorney, Calisto Yew. Yew managed to escape, however, and it would not be until seven years later that she would be caught and brought to justice.
