Murder of Elise Deauxnim[]

Main article: Bridge to the Turnabout

Upon being channeled by Misty Fey, Dahlia Hawthorne attempted to use this weapon to assassinate Maya Fey. When Prosecutor Godot intervened, Hawthorne struck back, knocking off his visor and leaving a wound on his face. Godot later submitted the dagger as evidence, and the blood on it was determined not to have belonged to the victim. Phoenix Wright used this information to try to prove his accusation against Godot, suggesting that another test be performed, deciding the matter once and for all. Unfortunately for him, this decisive evidence had the fatal flaw of being submitted by the man whom he was accusing, nullifying any possibility that the bloodstain on it at that point belonged to him, even if the dagger had drawn blood from him in the past. Moreover, Godot had no visible wound, and had had no opportunity to change his clothing. Wright, having had every other possibility eliminated, correctly deduced that the wound was underneath Godot's visor, finally solving the case.
