Datz Are'bal is a convicted revolutionary from the Kingdom of Khura'in who escaped from prison around the same time the death of Tahrust Inmee occurred. He later acted as an amnesiac man under the fake name A'nohn Ihmus TBD.
Escape from prison

Some time before Inmee's death, Are'bal escaped from prison, disguising himself as the amnesiac man, A'nohn Ihmus. He provided testimony in Maya Fey's trial, but was unmasked by Phoenix Wright.
Accused of murder

After Fey's trial, he travelled to the United States with Dhurke Sahdmadhi to meet Archie Buff. Are'bal and Buff argued, and Datz left his heavy suitcase there, which was used by Paul Atishon to kill Buff. Are'bal was arrested on the charges, but was cleared of them when Apollo Justice and Wright figured out that Atishon was the real killer during their civil trial. Afterwards, he travelled back to Khura'in.
Name
- His Japanese alias comes from nanashi no gonbei (名無しの権兵衛), which roughly means "John Doe," a generic name for people with no known identity or hidden identity, fitting his status as both an amnesiac man and as a revolutionary in disguise.
- The word provisional attached to his alias' name means existing for the present, but can be changed later.
- His Japanese real name comes from the phrase datto de nigeru (脱兎で逃げる), which means "fleeing as fast as I can," befitting his status as a revolutionary on the run from the law.
- His English alias, A'nohn Ihmus, is a play on "anonymous".
- His English real name is a play on "that's a rebel", referring to his association with the Defiant Dragons.
