Edgeworth made note of the door sensor after Raymond Shields asked about the room's security. He used it to deduce that a prisoner had most likely somehow entered the room, as the rubber glove could only have been left by a prisoner. He later used it to prove that Frank Sahwit could not have seen the body if he was in Workroom B, as once he attempted to exit, it would have gone off.
