The bloodstain was presumably left when Excelsius Winner mortally bludgeoned Ringer with his auction gavel.
Edgeworth found the bloodstain on the elevator in the 51st floor storeroom with Ema Skye's help. He later used it to prove that the meeting room was not the scene of Ringer's murder.
