A family photograph was a piece of evidence in Gregory and Miles Edgeworth's respective investigations into the murder of Pierre Hoquet.
Dover's murder[]

Prior to the murder, the photograph was taken by an unknown person.
Gregory added the photo to the court record after Manfred von Karma showed it to him. Von Karma used it to claim that Dane Gustavia had entered Dover's room to steal it.
Gustavia's poisoning[]

After deducing a connection between the two incidents, Miles received the photo from Raymond Shields alongside other IS-7 evidence. He later used it to prove that there was another difference between the finals and the semifinals of the dessert contest.
