A fire was a piece of evidence in Miles Edgeworth's investigation into Di-Jun Wang's murder.

Di-Jun Wang's supposed kidnapping

Shortly after the murder of Di-Jun Wang, Simeon Saint overheard the conspirators planning to kill Bodhidharma Kanis to keep him quiet about the murder. Wanting to repay his debt to Kanis for saving him 6 years ago, he led Kanis out of the orphanage and threw lamp oil on both of their footsteps. He then set the oil ablaze, allowing Kanis to escape.

Di-Jun Wang's murder

12 years later, Edgeworth added information about the fire to his organizer after learning of it. He later used it to deduce that it had occurred after the incident.
