A five-year-old photograph was a piece of evidence in Phoenix Wright's investigation into the murder of Jack Hammer.

Hammer's murder[edit | edit source]

Wright added the photograph to the court record after Wendy Oldbag finally talked about what happened five years ago. He later showed it to Dee Vasquez, causing her to ask him to come into the trailer to talk. Afterwards, she, with the help of her mafia connections, tried to take it. Fortunately, Dick Gumshoe came and put a stop to the confrontation.

Later, during the trial the next day, Wright showed the photo to show what the murder weapon was: the fencepost in Studio Two. He then used it to reveal the motive for the crime: Hammer had tried to kill Vasquez, but Vasquez had ended up killing him in self-defense.
