Flour Everywhere

Zacharias Barnham
Soft doughy rolls, delight of Labyrinthia! May the fire's embrace bake you!

"Episode 4: Flour Everywhere" is the fourth special episode for Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Hershel Layton, Luke Triton, Phoenix Wright, Maya Fey, and Espella Cantabella continue their return visit to Labyrinthia with a trip to Patty Eclaire's bakery.

Maya Fey, Luke Triton, Espella Cantabella, Hershel Layton and Phoenix Wright revisited Patty Eclaire's bakery. Constantine and Eve the cat greeted them outside. Constantine had recently given Eve an éclair, though he was loathe to admit it. Inside, they were welcomed by Zacharias Barnham, who was busy kneading the dough. It was reminiscent of how Wright had greeted Layton and Triton one year prior.

Cantabella explained that Barnham was a part-time baker who would stay at their home and work for them, like an apprentice. Barnham said that he was intending to earn a gift for someone. Fey and Wright wondered if he were actually being paid, but figured that being paid in bread was better than nothing. Overhearing this, Eclaire gave them a puzzle as punishment for belittling the importance of bread.

Cantabella then remembered that she was supposed to get a present for Eve Belduke's birthday. They realized that Barnham's gift was also intended for Belduke, though he denied it just as Constantine had denied giving Eve the cat a present.

Special gallery quotes[]

Barnham - Original[]

"The first prosecutor in game is not a knight, but I really wanted a main character in the medieval part to be a knight, so I was very happy when we got Barnham the Inquisitor."

Barnham - Final[]

"He was originally just the knights' commander, and for a long time, we weren't sure how to handle him. Did you see the bite marks on his right gauntlet in his shock animation?"

Barnham's Expressions[]

"As the Storyteller's symbol is the owl, Barnham was inspired by another bird of prey, the falcon. We expressed that through his irises, haircut, helmet and armour."
