The victim's letter was a piece of evidence in Miles Edgeworth's investigation into Rosie Ringer's murder. It later reappeared as Forged Letter during his investigation into Di-Jun Wang's murder.
Rosie Ringer's murder[]
After receiving this letter, which was apparently from Kay Faraday, Ringer wrote a letter and sent it back. Unbeknownst to her, she was actually communicating with Simeon Saint, who got her to seek revenge against Excelsius Winner for Alf Aldown's murder.
On the night of the murder, Saint brought Faraday to the Bigg Building to ensure that Edgeworth would investigate the murder that would soon ensue. When he flew to the roof of the tower on his Lion Hot Air Balloon, he encountered Di-Jun Wang's body double there. The body double noticed him and fired a gun at him, but Saint crushed the body double with his balloon. Afterwards, he dropped Faraday off and left the letter on her. After she witnessed Ringer climb out and die, Faraday accidentally fell into the 51st floor storeroom, where Winner and Florence Niedler found her. Upon finding the letter, Excelsius wrongly assumed that Faraday and Ringer were in cahoots with each other. In order to frame Faraday for the crime, he left the letter on Ringer's body and the other one on Faraday.
Later, Edgeworth received the letter from Verity Gavèlle. It was later used to prove that there was a mastermind behind the case.
Di-Jun Wang's murder[]
Edgeworth kept the letter after Rosie Ringer's death. It and the Report on Knight were later used to show the possibility of a connection with the SS-5 Incident.
