Fredrick Gye was the owner of the Royal Italian Opera house. Following a fire that occurred at the opera house, he was visited by Queen Victoria, who offered her condolences.

At the time of the fire, the house was leased to a magician called John Henry Anderson, who was hosting his Bal Masqué. Due to this, it was heavily speculated that Anderson was the one who caused the fire. However the official cause was unknown, and still being investigated by the time the news had been published in British papers.

Note[]

  • Fredrick Gye was an actual opera manager who ran the Royal Opera House. The Royal Opera House had three fires in real life, during the 19th century, in 1808, 1846, and 1856. The name used in-game, "Royal Italian Opera", was the name for the house that was used between 1847, when it reopened following the 1846 fire, and 1892, when "Italian" was dropped from its name.
