Gutsen Brawn was a professional boxer active around the time that Maggey Byrdewas accused of the murder of Glen Elg in early 2019. Although previously the heavyweight boxing champion, he was knocked out by a rival boxer during a match on January 5, 2019, and thus failed to defend his title.
Maggey Byrde is a fan of his, and was therefore disappointed to learn of his defeat in the ring while she was in detention awaiting trial for Elg's murder. Maya Fey was also aware of said sporting event, despite showing no prior interest in boxing, thereby suggesting that his defeat in the title bout was rather large news at the time.
During the first session of the retrial of Maggey Byrde, Victor Kudo was summoned as a witness to testify about the incident. When Mr. Kudo said he saw Elg reading a sports newspaper, he also mentioned that he was interested if Gutsen Brawn retained his championship or not, meaning he was also looking at the newspaper the victim had.
