An "incriminating" photograph was evidence in the trial of Rei Membami for the murder of Jezaille Brett. It was the very moment the defendant was removing the knife from the victim, and also happened to be taken by Raiten Menimemo.
Auchi's surprise evidence[]
After stabbing Brett in the back with a knife, Menimemo took a picture of Membami trying to pull it out. He then sent the print to the Imperial Police Bureau headquarters by express post with no name or address attached.
During Menimemo's trial the next day, Taketsuchi Auchi saw that he was losing and decided to present the photograph saying it was the moment Membami stabbed Brett, though not before hesitating. "Ryutaro Naruhodo" asked who took the picture, though Auchi tried to say it wasn't important, he confessed about how the police obtained it. The judge, however, agreed that without knowing who took the picture, this photo would prove Membami is responsible for Brett's death. "Ryutaro" noticed that the photo has the same camera crack as an article in a newspaper they had. Soseki Natsume confessed that the one who took that newspaper photo of him was named Raiten Menimemo. He was brought to court as a witness and "Ryutaro" proved that he was Brett's true murderer.
