The International Departures area is a concourse used by Franziska von Karma to return to Germany after the trial of Matt Engarde for the murder of Juan Corrida.

After Engarde's trial, von Karma left the District Court, leaving her whip behind. When she headed to the airport, among her luggage was Dick Gumshoe's trench coat, which she had brought with her by accident and still contained a tracking device that she had planted during a previous case. The device allowed Miles Edgeworth to track her down and ask her about a fourth piece of evidence that had never been presented during the trial. The two of them had a candid conversation about the expectations that had been forced upon von Karma, and whether she could change after failing to meet them, like Adrian Andrews did. Insisting that she would not walk in Edgeworth's shadow forever, von Karma broke into tears and promised she would return to get her "revenge" on him for leaving her behind. With that, she boarded her plane and, looking at the fourth piece of evidence, vowed that she would meet Phoenix Wright in battle again.
