The key to Horace Knightley's cell was a piece of evidence in Miles Edgeworth's investigation into the murder of Horace Knightley.
Elbird's escape[]

Two days prior to Knightley's murder, as Knightley was being escorted to his holding cell after visiting Simon Keyes, he and the guard were attacked in the cell and knocked unconscious by Jay Elbird. Elbird then stole the keys in order to escape the prison.
Raymond Shields was told of the incident and told Edgeworth. He later used it to prove to Justine Courtney that Knightley could not have concealed the key, as the cell had already been searched. Later, it was used to prove that Elbird could only have escaped if he had the key, revealing him to be the one who knocked out Knightley and the guard. After being proven as Knightley's assailant two days before, Elbird returned the keys. Edgeworth later removed it from his organizer along with the other evidence of Elbird's escape.
