Kōta Kitamita, né Kōta Komori, was a scientist and supposed time traveler. He was seemingly murdered in both 2001 and 2016, simultaneously, for which his assistant, an engineering student called Yūko Onebō, was arrested and tried in both time periods.

In reality, the Kōta Kitamita who was murdered in 2001 was an impostor who was going by his name, who was murdered by the real Kōta Kitamita.
