Kota Mitakita was a scientist and supposed time traveller. He was seemingly murdered in both 2001 and 2016, simultaneously, for which his assistant, an engineering student called Yūko Onebo, was arrested and tried in both time periods.

In reality, the Kota Mitakita who was murdered in 2001 was an imposer who was going by his name, who was murdered by the real Kota Mitakita.
