A lion hot air balloon was a piece of evidence in Miles Edgeworth's investigation into Di-Jun Wang's murder.
Di-Jun Wang's murder[]
On the night of April 4, Simeon Saint used the balloon to bring Kay Faraday to the Bigg Building to ensure that Edgeworth investigated Rosie Ringer's murder. However, upon arriving at the Bigg Building, Saint stumbled upon Di-Jun Wang's body double and Verity Gavèlle talking to one another on the roof. The body double noticed him and had Judge Gavèlle leave the rooftop first. He then fired a gun at Saint, although the bullet merely hit the balloon. In retaliation, Saint landed the balloon on the body double, killing him.
After killing the body double, he dropped Faraday off onto the roof. However, he was left with the body double's corpse, which he had to hide to prevent interference. In order to get the body double off the roof without being seen, he used the balloon to carry the body to a refrigerated warehouse to hide it and freeze it. He then loaded the balloon back in the blue truck that he used to carry it around.
At some point during that night, Lotta Hart captured the eye of the balloon in her photo of ringer heading to the rooftop. However, at that point, she believed the eye actually belonged to the movie monster Taurusaurus. This mistaken belief was expanded upon by a recording of the balloon being heated provided by Tabby Lloyd, which was believed to be the sound of Taurusaurus breathing fire.
Later, Edgeworth added the balloon to his organizer after Shi-Long Lang found it. He used it to suggest that the victim had shot and successfully hit the balloon. This was soon proven after a bullet hole was found in the balloon. Afterwards, he used it to show how the body double had left the roof of the Bigg Building. After that, he used it to show the real murder weapon in the case. It was then used to show where traces of the murder would remain, said traces being the crushed up pollen from the Bouquet the body double was carrying.
