Locations in Engarde Mansion

The living room of Engarde Mansion is the location in which Phoenix Wright first met Matt Engarde's pet Shoe and met and questioned Engarde's butler John Doe.

Appearance[]

Engarde's fancy mansion is befitting an extravagant acting superstar. Perhaps the most noticeable ornament is a giant motorbike that is hanging from the ceiling. Below the motorcycle is a table surrounded by a comfortable-looking sofa set and a fireplace. The door to the private lounge contains a pet door for Engarde's cat Shoe to pass. Above this door are masks of the Steel Samurai, Pink Princess and Nickel Samurai.

Killer in plain sight[]

Main article: Farewell, My Turnabout

After assassin Shelly de Killer killed Juan Corrida, he kidnapped Maya Fey to coerce Phoenix Wright into taking the case of his client, Matt Engarde. While Engarde was incarcerated and awaiting trial, he sent Wright to his mansion to feed his cat Shoe. There, Wright found and spoke with de Killer, who was disguised as "John Doe", Engarde's butler. Pearl Fey, who was tagging along with Wright, started playing with Shoe while Wright tried to ask "Doe" questions. "Doe", however, insisted that he was, as a butler, too lowly to be talking about matters concerning his boss.

Later, de Killer contacted Wright by transceiver to check up on him, but just as he made to end the call, Shoe meowed, giving away his butler disguise and location. Miles Edgeworth, who was listening in, quickly sent police to Engarde Mansion and rushed with Wright into the living room. However, Shelly de Killer had already made his escape with Maya. The two lawyers forced their way into the private lounge, and then the wine cellar, finding various clues leading to the conclusion that Engarde had recorded Corrida's assassination.
