Losing horse racing betting tickets were a piece of evidence in Phoenix Wright's investigation into the murder of Glen Elg.

Elg had a serious gambling problem, particularly betting on horse races, which put him $100,000 in debt to Furio Tigre. When Tigre killed him, there were over 500 betting tickets on the table at Trés Bien where they had met.
