Motohide Eshiro (江城 元秀) is a producer at Capcom. He started out as a programmer for Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, specifically for the character Guile.[1] He first heard about the Ace Attorney series while working on Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny.[2] His earliest involvement in the series was in the Nintendo DS releases of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations.[3] He would later serve as producer for Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, Gyakuten Kenji 2, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice, and The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve.
Eshiro's decision to enter the video game industry was influenced by the movie Star Wars. The scene in which Luke Skywalker pilots the Millennium Falcon's gunner seat and shot at TIE Fighters inspired a desire in him to play a scene like it as an arcade game.[4]
