The key to Bronco Knight's cell was a piece of evidence in Miles Edgeworth's investigation into the murder of Mr. Knight himself.
Carcerato's escape[]
Two days prior to Knight's murder, as Knight was being escorted to his holding cell after visiting Simeon Saint, he and the guard were attacked in the cell and knocked unconscious by Rocco Carcerato. Carcerato then stole the keys in order to escape the prison.
Eddie Fender was told of the incident and passed the information to Edgeworth. He later used it to prove to Verity Gavèlle that Knight could not have concealed the key, as the cell had already been searched. Later, it was used to prove that Carcerato could only have escaped if he had the key, revealing him to be the one who knocked out Knight and the guard. After being proven as Knight's assailant two days before, Carcerato returned the keys. Edgeworth later removed it from his organizer along with the other evidence of Carcerato's escape.
