"Partners - The game is afoot!" is a music track in The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve. Described as "a certain duo's theme", it is first used at the end of Twisted Karma and His Last Bow. It is then used during the final dance of deduction in The Resolve of Ryunosuke Naruhodo, alongside "A Battle of Wits - Backstage (Partners Version)". Finally, it is used at the end of Trial, Part 2 in the same episode. Its second half calls back to Herlock Sholmes's theme, "Herlock Sholmes - Great Detective of Foggy London Town".
"Partners" was the first track composed by Yasumasa Kitagawa for Resolve. Shu Takumi's simple request for a "cool tune" left Kitagawa stumped. An initial version was completed before any tap dancing had been recorded, and when a tap dancing part was added to form the final product, Kitagawa felt that it "was just the thing for it to truly become the musical face of Resolve." "Partners" also became the first track from Resolve's soundtrack to be released in some form, featuring in the game's very first teaser trailer as well as other promotional material.
An arrangement titled "Partners (Arrangement)" (Also titled "Partners - The game is afoot! Let's dance, my dear fellow!!" in the display box) was released as one of two original tracks in the "From the Vaults" instrumental soundtrack in The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, alongside "Baker Street Ball - Waltz for Chronicles". It features solos by the violin, accordion, and tap dancer, as well as a duet between the tap dancer and a second tap dancer.
