Passionflowers were a piece of evidence in Miles Edgeworth's investigation into the murders of Manny Coachen and Ka-Shi Nou.

Sometime after being given the Ambassador's Office in the Allebahstian side of the Cohdopian Embassy, Quercus Alba began planting the passionflowers in the window box in his office. He carefully took care of the flowers and used four crossbow bolts to keep them up.
On the night of the murders, Alba invited Franziska von Karma to his office to create a possible scapegoat. After she left, he used two of the bolts he'd been using as support sticks to shoot the ends of a wire to the Babahlese side of the embassy.
Later, Edgeworth wondered why von Karma had seen four flowers, when there were only two in the planter. However, he figured out the reason for this discrepancy and used it to prove that Alba was, in fact, the one who had set up the entire smuggling plan.
