Hammond's murder[edit | edit source]
- Main article: Turnabout Goodbyes
During the trial of Miles Edgeworth, Wright asked Dick Gumshoe why the police had arrested Edgeworth. Gumshoe explained that the pistol had Edgeworth's fingerprints on it, specifically from his right hand. Later, an enlarged version of one of Lotta Hart's photos showed the shooter firing the pistol from his left hand. Wright pointed out that this contradicted the allegation that Edgeworth must have been the shooter because his fingerprints were on the weapon.
On the second trial day, Wright used the fact that the pistol had been fired three times to piece together the testimonies given by Larry Butz, Lotta Hart, and the boat rental shop caretaker and reveal the real story of the murder and the subsequent effort to frame Edgeworth.
