"Recipe for Turnabout - 1st Trial" is the 31st episode of the Ace Attorney anime and the seventh episode of its second season. It is the first of three episodes that adapt the story of Recipe for Turnabout, originally from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations.

Differences from the game[]
- The case takes place in November instead of January.
- Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey meet Jean Armstrong during their first visit to Trés Bien, omitting the Sports Paper segment from the game.
- All mention of the Magatama and its theft by Armstrong are removed.
- Victor Kudo does not appear until the first trial, and his first scene in Vitamin Square is removed.
- Maya does not become a Trés Bien waitress until the second investigation day. Consequently, she does not channel Mia Fey until then either.
- Maggey Byrde's apron presented during the first trial has only a ketchup stain on it; the coffee stain is absent.
- The point in Kudo's testimony regarding the broken vase is not mentioned.
- Furio Tigre does not appear until after the first trial, and his pink scooter is found in the courthouse parking lot instead of Vitamin Square.
