A revolver was a piece of evidence in Apollo Justice's investigation into the murder of Romein LeTouse. Belonging to the victim, it was a .45-caliber weapon issued to Interpol agents.
As the revolver was designed to fire .45-caliber bullets, the weapon was both extremely powerful and dangerous to use; without proper training, the recoil from firing a shot could potentially dislocate the shoulder of the wielder.
"Like a bullet of love"[]
Discovering Daryan Crescend had smuggled a Borginian cocoon into the United States, undercover Interpol agent LeTouse confronted police detective/Gavinners second guitarist Daryan Crescend in Lamiroir's dressing room during the Gavinners' performance of "The Guitar's Serenade". During the subsequent struggle, Crescend was able to take the agent's revolver and fire two shots. While one shot missed, the other pierced LeTouse's shoulder, allowing Crescend to leave the scene and the dying man behind.
Owing to the caliber of the bullets, both shots left large bullet holes in the wall of the room and the recoil injured Crescend's shoulder, which would later cause him to miss a cue during the performance of "Guilty Love" during the third act of the Gavinners' concert. As the murder initially appeared to match some of the lyrics of "The Guitar's Serenade", with the lines "Like a bullet of love. Fire. Take my life away" seemingly referencing the shooting, Crescend would go on to stage some of the aftermath of the crime to make it seem that the killer was following the words of the song.
During Machi Tobaye's trial for the murder, the weapon's dangerous recoil was discussed in regards to the potential impact it could have on the shooter. Detective Ema Skye's initial theory was that the bullet holes in the wall were the result of Tobaye's blindness. However, as Tobaye's blindness was eventually revealed to be staged, this theory was instead revised to suggest the missed shot was the result of Tobaye's petite build causing him to struggle to wield the weapon effectively. Once Tobaye's defense attorney Apollo Justice began to accuse Crescend of the crime, the detective/guitarist tried to deflect suspicion by claiming his police training would allow him to wield the weapon without injury. However, this argument was countered by Justice pointing out the possibility of a struggle between him and LeTouse, which was supported by Crescend's missed cue during the concert. Tobaye was ultimately cleared of LeTouse's murder and Crescend was arrested instead.
Note[]
- The revolver bears a striking resemblance to the Smith & Wesson Model 29, a .44 magnum revolver.
