A rope was a piece of evidence in Miles Edgeworth's investigation into the murder of Bronco Knight.
Knight's murder[]
Before the Animal Show at the prison, Simeon Saint took the rope in order to use it for his stunt. However, Fifi Laguarde, Knight's killer, decided to use it to move Knight's body during the performance, giving her an alibi and placing the suspicion on Bodhidharma Kanis, who, due to being incarcerated in a maximum security cell and unable to exit, would have a weak alibi. Additionally, because she had to deliver goods to Kanis (as he was blackmailing her to supply the prisoners with anything they wanted) on that day, she knew that his dog, Helmut, would come to collect the "goods" she had prepared. She then tied Knight's dead body with the rope and hid the other weights in the grass. As she expected, the device worked as it should and allowed her to move the body.
Later on, Edgeworth found the rope on top of Knightley's body. He later deduced that the rope was from Mr. Saint's Trick device and that the body had been used to replace the weights.
