A security gate was a piece of evidence in Miles Edgeworth's investigation into the murder of Horace Knightley.
Knightley's murder[]

Edgeworth added information about the gate to his organizer after Justine Courtney mentioned it. He later used it to prove that the culprit could not have taken the murder weapon out, as the gates would have detected the metal items.
