Shah'do

Shah'do^[1] is a Tibetan Mastiff^[2] breed pet dog owned by Ahlbi Ur'gaid. When trying to keep him concealed, Ur'gaid keeps him inside his tote bag. When visible, he typically resides atop Ur'gaid's head.

Name

His Japanese name "Mitamaru" is a portmanteau of mitama (御霊), which means "sacred spirit" and the suffix maru (丸), which is often given to young, male children.
His English name is a play on the word "shadow." This may be a reference to him following Ur'gaid around like a shadow.
