Solitary Confinement Cell 13 is a prison cell for solitary confinement located in Central Prison, which is near the Los Angeles area. Morgan Fey and Kristoph Gavin have been held in this cell. It is one of several locations that were accessible to the jury in the MASON System.
Morgan Fey's incarceration[]
- Main article: Reunion, and Turnabout
In 2017, Morgan Fey framed Maya Fey for the murder of Turner Grey in Kurain Village to eliminate the main bloodline, allowing her daughter Pearl Fey to become the Master of the Kurain Channeling Technique. However, through defense attorney Phoenix Wright's implication of someone else as the killer, Morgan's role as an accomplice was exposed, and she was incarcerated and held in Solitary Confinement Cell 13 for her crime. In 2018, Morgan Fey was moved to the detention center and met Dahlia Hawthorne there.
The same cell?[]
Dick Gumshoe once mentioned that Fey was being held at the "detention center", which may have been a reference to the Los Angeles detention center. However, when the judge summoned Kristoph Gavin, he mentioned that his cell was located in "Central Prison", which may or may not have been a part of the Los Angeles detention center. Moreover, when Miles Edgeworth visited the prison to investigate the murder of Bronco Knight, there was nothing resembling a solitary confinement cell anywhere in the prison or the detention center.
Kristoph Gavin's incarceration[]
Kristoph Gavin was convicted for the murder of Shadi Smith and held in Solitary Cell 13. He managed to call in some favors to some of the prison guards whom he had befriended to get various items into the cell, turning it into something of an office. Among these was a very large bookshelf containing a violin, a white and blue tea set, a blue bird in a birdcage, and a goat statue. Near the center of the cell was a comfortable wooden chair with magenta fabric in a pink floral pattern, as well as a pillow with tassels. In front of the chair was a small table with a red book and a yellow envelope on top. A two-shelf drawer in the corner opposite the bookshelf had on it a blue vase with two red roses, a bottle of clear Ariadoney nail polish, and a framed photo of Gavin's pet retriever and "best friend", Vongole.
Phoenix Wright's visit[]
- Main article: Death of Drew Misham
When Phoenix Wright visited the cell while investigating the murder of Drew Misham, he asked why Gavin had killed Zak Gramarye. Gavin changed the subject, and Wright saw five black Psyche-Locks surround him, which were impossible to break. Wright later returned to the cell and attempted to steal a letter that Misham had sent to Gavin, which contained the poisoned stamp that had killed Misham, but Gavin stopped him (though Wright was still able to record the events for the MASON System).
When Gavin was called to a courtroom as a special witness in the case of Misham's death, he still refused to admit that he even knew Shadi Smith's real identity or his connection to the Mishams.
