Ace Attorney Wiki

Doesn't it seem like Ben and Trilo Quist are based off of Arnold Wesker & Scarface from the DC Comics Universe? Ben seems very timid and constantly stutters while Trilo is clearly the dominant one by demanding respect from all and physically harming Ben.

As already noted on the page, the introvert ventriloquist and extrovert dummy is a common trope with plenty of examples in popular culture. - Strabo412 (talk) 11:15, June 20, 2014 (UTC)

I'm amazed at how Woodman has the same nervous expression no matter what's going on! Whitehorse24 (talk) 20:56, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

The pedophilia issue[]

alright so excuse me if i mess anything up here, i've never done anything like this in one of these wikis, but i wanted to talk about how i think it's weird that this wiki describes ben as attracted to regina, even tho he probably isn't. there's this post on reddit i think does a good job of explaining it. op brings up a few arguments based on the dialogue from the episode as well as the fact the game doesn't seem to really imply ben is a pedo. i think it makes a lot of sense, but i wonder what you guys think.

The section has been carefully worded to say directly what the issue at hand is, which is that Regina has three adult men seemingly wanting to marry her. No matter what anyone thinks about whether pedophilia was technically going on, this is basically unarguable aside from the argument that these marriage proposals weren't serious. One could argue that it's really Trilo trying to marry Regina and that's the whole joke, but really the same thing could be argued about the other two, hence the line "There is very little detail about the specific nature of these relationships." Takumi was evidently trying to say something here, and maybe the context of Japanese culture makes it more obvious in Japan, but as it stands we can only speculate and it's not very clear what the actual intent behind these characterizations is. Was it secretly a critique of Russell Berry, or were things ever going to get to the point where marriage would seriously be on the table? Sometimes I think none of it was ever supposed to be serious, but who knows? Capefeather (talk) 03:20, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
