Princess Alias, though it was a one time thing, so was Mr.Wrong for Phoenix Wright, and we still have that.

A little late there lol. capefeather 14:55, January 18, 2010 (UTC)
Well, to be fair to the Mr. Wrong reference, that was a name that White used to identify Phoenix Wright, and he used it several times. The princess thing is probably a reference to a Zelda quote saying the same thing. capefeather 15:41, January 27, 2010 (UTC)
Doesn't anybody think Franziska should have several assult charges on her records. She whipped the JUDGE once, I think in Farewell, My Turnabout. That's... That's a huge offense. Wouldn't that land her a LifeSentence? --Likewise 21:50, September 16, 2010 (UTC)
Actually, she whips the judge as early as her first appearance. I think the thing to keep in mind is that the judge is a massive wuss, except in when it comes to the defence of course... Strabo412 00:45, September 17, 2010 (UTC)

FRANZISKA: Fool!
--LifeSentence 20:05, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
Foolish LifeSentence who foolishly sees foolish comparisons like a foolishly foolish fool! Ms. Franziska von Karma feels no pity for any fools! :P Strabo412 20:12, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
Aaaaaand to Franziska I bequeath a boot to the head. <Boof> --LifeSentence 21:55, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

"and by the age of 13, she was set to pass the bar exam. She took a vacation to America with her father to watch Edgeworth prosecute his first case"

I'm reading this as "When she was 13 she went to America etc." But when Franziska debuts she's 18 and Edgeworth is 24. That's a 6 year difference, and because Edgeworth is 20 in that case, wouldn't she be 14 when she comes to America on her break?71.32.90.48 07:24, January 12, 2011 (UTC)

Edgeworth is 25 in Justice For All. capefeather 13:10, January 12, 2011 (UTC)
Seriously? OwO I guess that makes sense then. XD71.32.90.48 20:19, January 12, 2011 (UTC)

Does She Say "Fon Karma"[]

Speaking from a scriptwriter's point of view, I like to imagine the voice of the characters as I play. So, after many argumentative states with fellow Ace Attorney fans, I have to ask the world's opinion? DOES FRANZISKA VON KARMA HAVE A GERMAN OR AMERICAN ACCENT? And before anyone comments with cocky rebuttals, I mean in the English locale. BritisheMarioFan 14:02 15 February 2011

I think that it depends on whether you think that Franziska has an accent. Her Objection! doesn't, and neither does her father's, so... capefeather 14:21, February 15, 2011 (UTC)
The Objection! seems to have a slight German slant, as I know a German and it is relatively similar. Maybe this is simply a mental recognition but it does seem similar. Manfred has a strong accent to me, and I believe Franziska would have a slightly less noticeable accent. BritischeMarioFan 13:37 February 16 2011

It ever bother you that she could get away with the whip?[]

Usually, if you beat a defense attorney to unconsciousness in the courtroom you get worse than a penalty, you get arrested. I know its for cartoon humor, but the fact she could get away with so much stuff that Pheonix could not made me seriously hate this bitch.

That's Japan for you[]

Well it is based on the Japanese Justice system. Defense attorney's are treated REALLY badly over there.

Aw, bummer.[]

How draconian.

Franziska's mother[]

I know it's hard to talk about this, since not everything about this was mentioned in canon. Does someone have whole translated Manfred's quote when he mentions her?

I've got a different question, but kind of related: are you still an orphan when your parents deceased after you reached adulthood? Because I'm pretty sure Franziska had parents, so she was not an orphan. Surely, past a certain age you get orphan-immunity. 178.41.164.255 21:21, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
what on earth are you talking about i thought Franziska's mother was never mentioned in the games. and i wanna know what the hey happened to her
Well, Franziska's mother was mentioned in Gyakuten Kenji 2, but I don't know Japanese, so I don't know details. That's why I was asked about translated part of script.

First trial[]

Was there any information about how long was Franziska's perfect win record or when was her first trial? Sligneris 13:19, July 8, 2012 (UTC)

Left or right[]

I'm just going to ask. Is she right handed or left handed

Depends on where she's facing ;) capefeather (talk) 13:06, November 6, 2012 (UTC)
I'm asking normally Franzyfan1998 (talk) 21:39, November 7, 2012 (UTC)
Beats me capefeather (talk) 03:44, November 8, 2012 (UTC)
Implicitly, I would assume that she was left-handed, based on the majority of official artwork images of her holding her whip and the sprite animations in-game. A major piece of evidence for this is the animation involving her unleashing her whip on the table (the only time we see her whip move in this way other than the anime swipe). However, whether this fact is relevant to the page is also debatable. Therefore, I settled this squabble, but would like other opinions on how important this detail is, fool. Thehumangoomba (talk) 12:12, November 9, 2012 (UTC)

Different official art has her whip in different hands. The only one where she looks like she might actually use it has her holding the handle in her left hand. However, I know I wouldn't usually hold a sword or pencil or really anything I intend to use with my dominant hand, on my other hand. capefeather (talk) 16:04, November 9, 2012 (UTC)

As I said in my submission of evidence earlier, the relevance or necessity of this fact is open to debate. I, for one, am willing on this evidence to suggest that she is left-handed (or ambidextrous, if you want to confuse), but there's nothing really to really say that this is must have information on the page, for even the biggest fan. As much as this is riveting a debate, I don't believe we absolutely must document this. However, if you want to ask the fans themselves this could be a vote or such for the entertainment of the Ace Attorney fandom. :}

Hey I'm a mega fan of the games and i want to know
Nothing personal, pal. I'm a mega fan also, I just wasn't sure whether you meant for the page or not. (See my earlier pseudonym BritischeMarioFan and that pointless comment?

Is her hand drawn wrong?[]

Is her hand drawn wrong?

Franziska_von_Karma?file=Artofgs-094.jpg

In the image at the top where her hand is outstreched, if you follow how her body is oriented, her left hand should be outstreched, but the way it's drawn it could only be her right. I saw this in the games Phoenix Wright as well.

I have always thought that Franzika was only faking a strike. If you see the size of the court room from when they show the back of the whittness, I dought the whip could reach that far. The "ouch" is only out of fear.AbsolX23 (talk) 01:20, October 13, 2015 (UTC)

Well, Nick is whipped until he passes out at the end of Reunion, and Turnabout... - Strabo412 (talk) 01:32, October 13, 2015 (UTC)

Older sister[]

There's a citation needed for a mention of Franziska's older sister, and, well. I guess it's finally MY TIME! Or maybe not because I'm not actually sure how should I properly make a reference with my bad english.

First mention was Manfred's reference to his granddaughter - it was said that she has a dog named "Phoenix" (or "Ryu" in japanese version of the game). Although at first it sounds like a joke, there's a second mention in Gyakuten Saiban 2 Investigate into the Truth. On page 111, there's a box with a short character-interview.

  • Q兄弟は?
  • Aとりあえず家庭持ちの姉がいるわ。 姉には子供もいてリュウという名の飼い犬もいるの よ。

I'm not 100% good with japanese, but the question stands for if Fran got any siblings. She answers that she has a sister and niece who got a dog named Ryu. I don't think she would play along with her father's joke, so I guess it's confirmed? Wild ride (talk) 06:41, August 9, 2016 (UTC)

About the "siblings" thing[]

As if the moderators of the wiki ain't being clear enough, here's a link to a discussion where I talked at length about this misconception held amongst western ace attorney fans. Feel free to hop in and discuss with me if you are interested. https://aceattorney.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000000145587
