Anyone notice this fellow?Edit

I was trying the demo for the game on the official site and I noticed this fellow standing in the intro.

Anyone notice the small fact that it looks like Luke Atmey a little? Supergamer22 01:21, January 9, 2011 (UTC)
Isn't that Umanosuke Naitō, the Zheng Fa president's bodyguard? In my opinion, his hair is almost sane compared to Atmey's, not to mention the fact that from that angle you could easily see his "distinctive" nose... :P Strabo412 01:26, January 9, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is. You can easily tell by the neckbrace he's wearing. Plus he appears at the end of the demo, leaving a pretty strong impression on me about him because of the way he played with his gun. And by the way, it is weird if I used the name Naitou Umanosuke instead?TheNewEditor 02:24, January 9, 2011 (UTC)
Freakishly weird. I am both scared and confused. ^_^ Strabo412 02:28, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Release date Edit

Does anyone know anything about a release date for america/UK???

As of now, there are no localization plans. Jmcdunce 21:20, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

Additional Citation? Edit

It seems to me, having read the majority of the article without any exposure to the game before now (excluding the announcements concerning a lack of localisation plans), that the Anti-Piracy section could use one or more citations to make it more believable. Also, out of curiosity, how do they intend on turning all copies available for download to Borginian? Or does it have to do with the manner in which users upload the game? These probably are typical questions and, if there are no sources or answers, might detract from the trust people view this article with. 10:48, July 8, 2011 (UTC)

English Patch Edit

Does anyone know about an english patch for the game? Thanks in advanceAce Detective 11:15, October 6, 2011 (UTC)

Court Records is working on one. It's not going to be done for a long while, though. Translation patches take time... capefeather 13:54, October 6, 2011 (UTC)

Localization subsection Edit

Maybe I'm just a bit biased, but I'm not sure the localization subsection adds much of anything new to the article. It is unlike the rest of the development section in that there is no release of new "important" info, all of it being pretty much the same theme of, "We're not saying we won't do it, and we might if other stuff sells well." On the other hand, the Gyakuten Saiban 5 page used to be separating the rumours from the actual info, and wasn't really about new game content until the logo announcement. Though, in that case, the purpose of the page was entirely different. I think the best solution is to source all the times the localization issue was addressed, and attach them to an extra statement in the second paragraph of the article, talking about the general theme of the developments of the localization. capefeather (talk) 11:54, October 6, 2012 (UTC)

Patch status Edit

Is there anything against mentioning the status of the fan translation in this article? Court records posted an update that the first two cases have been translated and offer download links to the patch files. I'm not saying any DL links should be in the article, but perhaps some mention that the patch is, for all intents and purposes, 40% finished. Schiffy (T|C) 20:18, September 19, 2013 (UTC)

There's a news bullet mentioning it. I think it's best not to acknowledge it in any other way until it's completed. capefeather (talk) 14:19, September 20, 2013 (UTC)
Alright then, that seems fair. Schiffy (T|C) 22:23, September 20, 2013 (UTC)

Game SpritesEdit

Can someone add the character sprites for this game to the wiki? Doggieboy9 (talk) 18:39, May 6, 2014 (UTC)

I suppose someone could. Are you volunteering? - Strabo412 (talk) 23:07, May 6, 2014 (UTC)
I don't have the sprites. :-( --Doggieboy9 (talk) 00:51, May 7, 2014 (UTC)
If someone had them, they'd be uploaded by now I'm sure. I suppose they could be created by using the sprite sheets on Court Records, but I've got enough on my plate without constructing sprite animations and I don't really see anyone else doing it anytime soon. - Strabo412 (talk) 15:37, May 7, 2014 (UTC)

A Page for the TranslationEdit

Stating it is not official, and giving details that can't be found in the Japanese version, like Unofficial English Names. Maybe. This has probably been thought up already, but, I thought I'd ask about this anyway. - Spyromed (talk) 10:23, May 11, 2014 (UTC)

Translation names. Edit

Fan translation translate only first 3 cases, but on some pages about GK2 charaters from 4 and 5 case is info about their translation names...Why?SNORKOFOB (talk) 11:16, May 25, 2014 (UTC)

They were probably all openly discussed and decided beforehand. They must be on the old Court Records forum or something. - Strabo412 (talk) 11:29, May 25, 2014 (UTC)

Maps from the fan translationEdit

I have images of maps from the fan translation of this game. I'm just bringing this up to see if anyone has any opinions on using these maps in map templates because I'm planning on using them just like the officially localized maps. It's technically unofficial content and I know that that's a touchy subject for some, but using the official Japanese maps seems impractical on multiple levels. capefeather (talk) 23:37, March 11, 2015 (UTC)

French Fan Patch - NamesEdit

So I recently found out that there's a French translation patch currently in the works for AAI and AAI2. AAI is nearly complete, and they've already started working on AAI2. There's also a bunch of other language translation projects in the portal I've linked.

Here's what I'm wondering: The French localizations are usually the only ones to make drastic changes to character names, but could the source coding for characters |gk2= possible be changed to include fan translation names in other languages? I'm thinking something like this:

Ex: (French names taken from here (AAI2) and here (AAI).)

Manosuke Naitō:

  • Horace Knightley (in the unofficial English fan patch)
  • Carl Valier (in the unofficial French fan patch)

Calisto Yew:

  • Caliste Éria (in the unofficial French fan patch)

Or is this something that is restricted to the English fan translation?

It's not an issue for AAI2 just yet other than a few characters (most of the AAI2 cast from the voice casting page have provisionary names), but it will be an issue pretty soon. The only case left for AAI is Turnabout Ablaze, but they're pretty much just finishing it up now, checking for bugs and typos. The names are pretty much all translated, and the model would be similar to that of the "English Name" tab that uses the |gk2= coding.
