Is the height just assumed from the two mains being the same height in the crossover? I've been hearing that they were intentionally made to have the same height in the game, but I've also been hearing that Phoenix was made taller than he's supposed to be... or something. capefeather 13:19, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

I read about the possible height change before I added it, so I was torn about putting it in. Maybe I should just take the height out for now? Strabo412 15:13, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

Name sections[]

For Ace Attorney characters, it's well-known that names are puns or otherwise have some sort of meaning behind them. However, for the Professor Layton series, I'm not sure that this is the case. I only ever played the first game, but in any case, I'm not sure that name sections are entirely necessary. I mean, sure, "Triton" has connections to mythology and all that, but beyond that, name sections seem misleading. capefeather 03:46, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

I agree to be honest, I was only cleaning them up. I don't think there's any evidence that Prof Layton characters have "punny" names... Strabo412 14:23, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
A few characters have sorta punny names. Stachenscarfen is based off the fact that the character has a mustache and wears a scarf. Certain characters in Eternal Diva have names based off musical things, such as Oscar Whistler. However, there's not as much of a focus on it as in Ace Attorney. I assume the name is just to play on the English-ness and intelligence of Layton. MrKiryu 13:13, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

VA hasn't seemed to change[]

Layton's VA hasn't changed for a while, but since they're translating the crossover game in Europe first, I'm guessing Christopher Robin Miller isn't invited to voice Layton over in Britain. (Anyone wanna correct me on this or whatever?) New Seeker (talk) 00:10, February 11, 2014 (UTC)

Miller does actually voice Layton in both Europe and America.  Luke, on the other hand, has a different voice actress depending on the region.  Now, to be fair, we don't yet have official confirmation of either of their PLvsPW voice actors, but it's probably safe to assume they'll be the same as past Layton games.  BoltGSR (talk) 04:09, February 11, 2014 (UTC)

Layton-only information[]

There appears to be a large amount of Layton-specific spoilers on this page, something which I may have casually seen in the past, and having now completed the (main) Layton titles, can tell are pretty heavy spoilers for the series. The point being, a large amount of this information is irrelevant to PLvsPW. Any information that isn't brought up in the game, or a casual player could survive without, could perhaps be removed.

The same logic should be used for other Layton characters. Instead I think we should include a link to their respective Layton Wiki pages, along with a bar that notes that some information (if it's left behind) may be spoilers for the Layton series in particular. A good point. We don't hide spoilers for AA games on this wiki, but spoilers for other games might be a little unfair. I'll have a go at a fix. - Strabo412 (talk) 10:59, May 24, 2015 (UTC)
As the one who wrote it, the main reason for doing that was meerly as an introduction, since otherwise it felt kind of blank. But if that's the case, you'll need to edit Triton's page as well. CrashBash (talk) 17:53, May 24, 2015 (UTC)
