Couldn't it have been the same trophy from Rise from the Ashes? capefeather 21:44, January 3, 2011 (UTC)
- I thought it was the same trophy. You see, I thought trophies that have past winners on them (as the KoP one does on the underside) are passed from recipient to recipient, since it would be too costly to make new ones each year. I was under the impression this is what happens with various sporting trophies. Of course, I could be completely wrong and it may just be guesswork on my part. It made logical sense to me when I put it in, especially when Edgeworth seems the only suitable prosecutor to receive the prize (although considering that the only known competition were either incompetent, criminals or sadists perhaps that's not saying much...). It also seemed odd to me that Edgeworth would keep the trophy for two years, since he disliked it so much. If the award ceremony was in February each year, then his still having it in Turnabout Visitor makes sense since the case is set in March. I'm rambling a bit, but basically I think it is the same trophy (especially when considering that it still has no broken sword on it) and Edgeworth has either won it once or both times since Rise from the Ashes. I actually quite like the idea that the trophy has basically just sat in Edgey's office for two years since no-one else has been good enough to take it from him, even with him out of the country most of the time. Rambling over, not sure if any of that made sense... Strabo412 00:06, January 4, 2011 (UTC)
Concerning the capitalization of this page, in practice the capitalization of articles has always been rather inconsistent across the wiki. There was a lot written about addressing this in 2014, and the results of that are even in a manual of style page. It was supposed to be more or less decided that "common nouns should be treated as common nouns", and the convention I was trying to push at the time was that terms should be treated as "common nouns" if they were ever treated that way in the game script (this is why pages like prosecutor's office and court record are in lowercase even though non-AAT entries have consistently capitalized them). With the passage of time, this has not really panned out consistently, at least with evidence and location pages. Part of it is my fault because I just couldn't keep up with the growth of the wiki anymore, especially with every piece of evidence having its own page now.
At this point, I don't know how much to push the matter of common noun capitalization anymore. I've let it go for now, and maybe I should give up on renaming the evidence pages at least. I'm still of the general belief that common noun terms should be in lowercase, though. Either way, there would be a tradeoff between having to put indirect links in infoboxes and navboxes and having to put indirect links in article bodies. Maybe I'm biased at this point due to being more concerned about article bodies than infoboxes and navboxes. That said, I found it peculiar that the term "prosecutor trophy" was removed from the lead section, even though it's the name of the page. It's a strange disconnect that, to my recollection, happens with some other pieces of evidence, and is another reason I used to push for naming pages based on the game script rather than the UI.
Anyway, I just thought I owed an explanation as to the main reasoning I tried to rename this page to lowercase. If that action seemed inconsistent with the rest of the wiki, it's kind of because it's been inconsistent across the wiki, and I've been operating on the only standard that's come close to being agreed upon.
